Stachys Byzantina, commonly known as Lamb’s-ear. A wonderful evergreen perennial plant with thick fuzzy silvery foliage. They prefer well-drained soil but thrives in poor soil and best in full sun to slightly shaded areas. It sends up spikes of purplish-pink flowers that attract bees from late spring to early summer. Some gardeners like to remove the flowering stalk before they bloom, this encourages the plant to spread. Lambs ears are a great groundcover and the leaves are a favourite for use in floral work. Avoid over watering and if leaves decline in the heat of summer, trim them off. Lamb’s-ear grows to a height 30-45cm x 40-60cm wide.
Plants come in 9cm pots.
