Hostas are mainly grown for its beautiful large waxy leaves and looks gorgeous when grown in mass. Each plant sends up several long stalks, with white sweet scented flower buds along its length. They will handle most soil types but grow best where soil is rich and well-draining and a moist and cool environment but can be grown in full sun although the leaves will bleach in the sun. Hostas are great under trees or in dark corners of the garden, they are herbaceous meaning they will die back during the cooler months but will reappear again in spring.
