Black Mondo Grass (Ophiopogon Planiscapus ‘Nigrescens’) is a popular modern landscaping plant, a low growing perennial with purplish-black grass like leaves. In spring to early summer the flowers are like pink bells. These are great in containers, along borders or around paths. They prefer well-draining rich, moist soil and full sun to part shade. A clumping plant, when mature the strappy leaves are about 30cm long. Water regularly to get established especially during the summer.
