Cannas can add a bold tropical texture to your garden, with a stunning variegated foliage of lime green and gold with orange flowers. Plant straight in the ground or in a large pot or containers. Cannas are perennials that thrive in sun to partial shade and wet rich free-draining soil in the growing season. Remove spent flowers for best display and after the flowering season watering can be reduced. These can grow to a height 60-120cm tall and 35-50cm wide and well suited for boarders and as a patio plant or by the water side. Cannas can be grown indoors but must be in a large pot and with proper care.
